Ethan Page On Having Fun With The Wokeness Of The Third Eye, Challenges Playing Other Characte
Ethan Page was on this week’s IMPACT Wrestling Press Pass podcast along with Jordynne Grace.
Wrestlezone had the chance to ask Ethan if he’s faced any challenges working in teams in IMPACT Wrestling so far since he’s well-known for his ‘All Ego’ brand on the independent scene:
It was a little tough with the Chandler Park character, I almost tried to play it off like I was an actor on a TV show playing a character. When I would go to these independent shows, they were already shows that I had been working the past couple of years and I had built my credibility for them. I’d almost make side comments and jokes like ‘oh, you know I play a character on TV, but tonight I’m going to kick your butt.’
It’s been a lot easier to kind of mix both worlds with what’s going on right now. I actually really like the Matt Sydal character, and the over-the-top ‘wokeness’ of the Third Eye. It’s stuff that I’m into; I’m deep into the Joe Rogan podcast, so it’s fun to play and it’s stuff I’m actually interested in. It’s not hard at all.
Earlier in the call, Page also joked about being a ‘terrible Canadian’ due to not liking hockey or snow, but said his appreciation for Tim Horton’s is why he’s allowed to remain a citizen:
Tim Horton’s is the best! It’s the best; the donuts are great, the muffins are great, the breakfast sandwiches are great. That’s why I’m 260 pounds doing a Swanton Bomb and I’m not 200.
[laughs] If I talk smack about Tim Horton’s, they could revoke my Canadian passport, but no, I can’t do that.
