Pete Burns, You Spin Me Round Singer, Dies at 57
Pete Burns, founder and singer of the British band Dead or Alive, died Sunday. He was 57.
According to a tweet from his management team, Burns died of a massive cardiac arrest.

“All of his family and friends are devaststed [sic] by the loss of our special star. He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories he has left is [sic] with,” the post read.
“We have no more words, we will make a further statement when we have a chance to come to terms with our devastating loss,” it continued. “He will live forever in our memories.”
Dead or Alive was formed by Burns in 1980. Its breakout 1985 single, “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record),” hit No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 11 on the U.S. Billboard chart. The song became a fixture of many dance club playlists.
Later in his career, Burns appeared on “Celebrity Big Brother” as well as several shows where he discussed his cosmetic surgery, including “Pete Burns’ Cosmetic Surgery Nightmares” and “The Body Shocking Show.”
